Modifying staircases
By Home Alliance | April 11, 2009
Staircases come in glass, fiberglass, wood, steel and a lot more materials. They may assume an angular or a circular pattern depending upon the aesthetic requirement. For instance, a circular staircase gives a soft feel to the home.
Indoor staircases are a central point of home architecture. Yes, it is also important to look after the security aspect of a staircase. Casting out huge entryways and substituting them with spiral railings is a nice idea. You can also augment the spaces with new stairs. If stairs are eating away the space you had earmarked for other kinds of remodeling, go for a spiral model. A pull down staircase or a flexible one can be used for opening or closing the staircase. These are attached to the attic doors.
While trying to give a look to your stair, keep in mind the entire architecture. You shall either contrast or synchronize the staircase with the adjoining areas.
