How to Pick the Perfect Carpet for Your Living Room
By cooldude | August 14, 2010
Getting a carpet is quite an investment therefore planning before actually ordering the carpet is very necessary. First thing to consider is your budget. According to your budget you can decide upon the basic carpet characteristics which include density, material, face weight and twist. Check the labels and performance ratings of the carpet while making your choice.
Once you have decided upon the material and quality, move on to the color and design of the carpet. Consider the décor of the room for the design of the carpet. Say your room has an old world look then use a Persian design. If your decor is predominantly English then use a Victorian design. Consider the lighting color and size of the room to decide upon the color combination.
If you want your room to look bigger than choose lighter shades and vice versa. If you want a dim light effect go for a shade which is darker. Check the color effects on your room and mood. Just taking a little time to decide on your carpet avoids you wasting your later years regretting the choice.
