Green Roofs can save a lot of Money

Green roofs are increasingly creating more opportunities for homeowners to save money, to add aesthetics to their home as well as preserving the environment by reducing the carbon footprints. Green roofs, that entail partially or fully having vegetation cover on the roof of the house, are a relatively inexpensive to develop.
You only need to buy pots of flowers and have them planted in the correct way. Having a green roof can drastically reduce your energy bills that sky rocket with seasonal change. In the summer, your cooling bills can be lowered because the vegetation on the roof absorbs the humidity and the heat coming from the sun. Therefore instead of the heat getting absorbed by the roof and into the house it is repelled away by the plants.
Other than the thermal resistance function, green roofs are an effective way of soundproofing your home if you it is located in noisy industrial areas, in the city or near and airport. Conventional roofs wear out much faster than the green roofs do thus, you will only have to replace this type of roof after an extended period.
